· Describe the things you see in the image.
o What does it look like? Who or what is in the design / photograph?
o Does the Design / Photograph have an emotional impact on you when you look at it? What type of emotions does the image create?
Analyze: How is the work organized? (Use the principles of design) LINK

o Describe the image based on the elements, and principles of design.
o Does the cropping support the message of the image, or are there objects in the image that are confusing?
o Contrast: Does the image have a good range of values?
o Does the depth of field help to support the idea, or does the image need more or less focused information?
o How is the image composed? Is the image composed using the rule of thirds, or is the main focal point in the middle of the page?
Interpret: What is the artist trying to communicate?
· This is where you tell the audience what you were trying to communicate. Or if you are reflecting on another artists work.
o Do you think the design / photograph has a strong message?
o What aspects of the design / photograph led you to that conclusion?
o What changes could help strengthen the message?
Judge: What do you think of the work?
· Was the image successful or not?
o What changes would you make if not, and if it is successful what is making the image work?

Advanced Tutorial: How to get rid of a background & Make it Transparent
Prior to making your image transparent you need to get in and increase the contrast. If you don't do that first the saturation of the image will not look good.
This will make your image black and white and transparent so that you can use the paintbrush to paint behind the image.
